Patong Beach is the most famous beach in Phuket. This small fishermen's village grew into a fair-sized beach resort in less than 20 years and nowadays it offers all the amenities needed for a successful holiday: accommodation, restaurants, bars, shopping centres, and a nightlife which deserves a look at.
It is the busiest resort in Phuket, and is far from showing a realistic image of Thailand. The beach itself offers a three-kilometre stroll. Many vendors and watersport activities make it a somewhat frenetic place to be and maybe the most chilled-out thing to do here is to catch a massage in the shade. |
