Paradise Beach - Phuket

Phuket Art: Photo Galleries - South Thailand Images & Maps

Is Paradise Beach still a 'secret' beach? Even though it’s getting more and more popular, the drive there is still a bit of an adventure, even though the path became a concrete road, it is still steep, mountainous, and narrow. Anyway, the destination is worth the ride. Follow Patong Beach Road down to its southernmost part, turn left after the bridge, and follow the road on a few kilometers: you should pass in front of Baan Yin Dee and Merlin Beach Resort. After the second resort, you will see Emerald Beach on your right and the road becomes steep and smaller. Carry on (be careful) in the jungle, over the hill and down a sharp incline into the beach’s parking lot.  If you do not want to drive there by car, you can hire a long-tail boat at the southern tip of Patong Beach.

One of the beach’s better points is that there’s is a restaurant offering affordable good food Thai/Western styles. Sun beds are for hire (unfortunately you can't sit on the beach with your towel only). Paradise is in fact two beaches separated by rocks: the beach in front of the restaurant (photos 1 & 3) offers shade under the trees and is the busiest, the second beach (photo 2), just a few beach chairs. Both beaches offer great snorkeling.
